Some time ago WeezerMonkey asked: "So is there anything around here that can serve as an approximation of New Orleans fare?"
Like a good lawyer, I did some research. I was particularly interested in what Eddie, The Southerner, Fraggle and Mr. Fraggle had to say on the topic, since they have all dined in NOLA and have attempted to find local places that can serve as a substitute. Their answers were all similar: No, because once you have had authentic NOLA food nothing will compare. And they all detest the Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney.
Feminist Gold Digger offered a fix however, in the form of two websites that have authentic cajun/creole grocery items and also have fresh food items that can be ordered: Cajun Grocer and Tony's Seafood. Mr. FGD also suggested two restaurants that may pass muster: The Boiling Crab or Iva Lee's.
Sorry for the delay Weezer Monkey!

Ahh! The Boiling Crab has a location in Alhambra.
That explains all the Asian peeps!
I surely do not have the most advanced palate in the household, but I met some friends at Lucille's a few days ago, ordered a Po' boy, and nearly wretched all over myself.
Did anyone mention I actually AM cajun?
